The Booth Bus - Distance is an Opportunity

Booth Bus Story Little Pi

Technology breakthroughs have shown us that physical distance isn’t an obstacle. Human interaction hasn’t been the same for the past years. Now we have the opportunity to maintain communication with others despite the distance. Emotional links can happen in the virtual world. The Booth Bus is a USA based company that leases handcrafted vintage booths buses for parties or weddings so the guests can have an unforgettable moment though laughs and photos.

The Booth Bus uses their social media not only as their online marketing space, but they also use it as a route to share their customer’s experiences. Since the very beginning they’ve invested a lot of time personalizing each event.

¨ Our business involves a lot of time making everything look perfect. First we start with the booth and the decorations. Each event is unique and needs its own personal touch. Then we have to make sure everything works perfectly. We’ve been very lucky and we have participated in many special events. Some times we wish days had more hours.¨

Our first look at The Booth Bus social media accounts showed that they’ve been having issues with their consistency on posts. The reason is due to the fact that sharing content is a long process and takes time to perfect it. Little Pi’s headquarters are located in Guatemala City and The Booth Bus is based in California. How were we able to work together? Ship & Shoot was way. The Booth Bus put all the new props and accessories in a box and shipped it to our PO Box in Miami. We took this box and went full creative in Guatemala. The actual Bus photos were provided by them as they were event based and we couldn’t really crash the party right?

In November 2019, our journey with The Booth Bus began. Our first goal was to bring back the balance of posting regularly. Oh, and remember we were thousands of miles apart from each other right? Distance was not a challenge for us as they worked non stop on events and parties capturing amazing photos, that then were uploaded to Dropbox so we could take over the editing and all the other fun stuff.

The photographs provided to us needed to be personalized with style, editing and post production. Filtering the perfect content is time consuming. We were able to take a load off the client’s shoulders. Our communication was active through the process.

Post production is key in photography because it is the time where errors are fixed and features are enhanced. In this process, images are retouched to make sure they look the best. The Booth Bus’ post production was very important to us as all of it needed to blend together and make you feel like you were part of their 1970 VW club.

¨ Little Pi came to us in a crucial moment. Not only was I overwhelmed with work but I had a baby on the way ready to bring a whole new meaning to our life. ¨

The key for making The Booth Bus an iconic brand was to empower the element that makes them unique, and that was the VW bus experience. This element is what tells the stories and it is packed with meanings. We wanted to generate a unique symbol for this brand. If someone spotted the VW we wanted them to immediately think of The Booth Bus. Symbols are only functional if they communicate the message that honors them.

The type of products and services The Booth Bus provide are event based. ¿What does that mean? It means that the nature of the business results in lack of client recurrence. When people are soon going to live a special moment, they’ll research a service like The Booth Bus to make sure those moments are captured forever in photos. After an event is over people are no longer looking for those services again, so they usually lose interest and unfollow the business. So the way to resolve this issue is to maintain a constant customer acquisition in order to keep a consistent pool of new lookers.

After a couple of months of looking at the results we were getting on Facebook and Instagram, we discovered that more people were visiting their profile through the search of hashtags. We saw a huge improvement in January compared to December. Consistent posting plus investment on ADs for Instagram we were able to see a higher engagement . It is also important to know which social media platform is best for you.
