RC COOL is a company founded in 2010 in Guatemala City. Since then, they have been working with big companies, but RC COOL also wanted to reach new individual customers with their Social Media. In early 2020 they approached us, Little Pi Studio. They trusted our expertise to guide and develop their content and marketing strategies in the online platforms. Working for RC COOL was very excited for us. They were up to try whatever visual plan we decided was the best for them. They gave us total support in the process and provided us with all the information needed to understand their product fully.

Guatemala is known to be the country with one of the most amazing weather. Most of the year, you can consider it is like spring. But In the last decade experts have noticed the changes in the weather. This is due to global warming. According to a study made, the temperature has risen about 1.5C from 1961-2015. Home and business owners have experienced hotter environments that become less comfortable. People in the city choose to find a solution to the hot temperatures. Opened windows may work for a while but if there is not enough breeze you will not find coolness. AC systems are becoming a necessity more than a luxury.

¨ We’ve been in the market for around 10 years now. We have been reached by individuals that want to install ACs in their homes and apartments because they say some days the hot temperature is unbearable. If they have small apartments a single unit may be enough or if they have a bigger home we usually install the units in the most important areas like rooms and living rooms. We’ve needed to show the options they have in an easy understandable way, that’s why we decided to hire Little Pi Studio to start our journey in social media platforms¨

 

For us this was our first client that was involved in electronic/technology products and services. We started introducing the company and their history. We developed genuine photography content to generate reliability. The first month´s response showed how successful our strategy was going to be. We involved ourselves to see the systems they had installed in various businesses throughout Guatemala. We saw their quality of work with our own eyes.

They not only care about the financial benefits of having a controlled temperature, but also their care about the employees and people’s well being. That's why they make sure every system is working properly and safely. By producing their own content for their social media platforms, we were able to project their unique value. The quality of their products and services was shown in each post created.

For us it was very important to understand the process that takes place before a customer signs to get the system they need for their homes or business. After the online research of the product, people want to see details and reviews if available. The client usually asks for a meeting with a sales representative to have a direct conversation and recommendations. Those appointments do not always end with a sale, but the time is already invested. To improve the decision process for RC COOL we found a way to use personalized illustrations to explain the specs of each system in an unchallenged way. The goal? To reduce the appointments by giving enough information for the client to make a final decision.

¨ We were used to having many phone calls, email communications and meetings with people interested in our products. We completely understand that they want to be 100% sure that they are making the correct decision because the AC units are not cheap. But much of that time invested resulted in nothing. People were not quite satisfied with the information we provided so they hesitate to buy them.¨ 

 

Due to the fact that we are constantly in our social media accounts scrolling through the feed, most people find the firsts options in there. The way we developed the visual content for RC COOL made it easy for these people to gather information.

Talking more about the visual elements we used in their illustrations, we started paring the characteristics of the systems and the value with visual representations for them. For example, when you think of AC technology what comes to mind is purity based on the fact that the air expelled is being filtered by the system. Purity is an intangible characteristic put can be represented visually using the correct elements. 

First we choose a clear almost white background. This made the overall format feel clean. Clean means free of unwanted marks. Do you see how this becomes a symbol? Then we located a blue light gradient from the inside out of the system’s image. This glow was meant to represent the air expelled. The color blue physiologically represents the clarity. 

 

We can speak more clearly using visuals than actual words. These kinds of electronic products have complex explanations of how they function and can be overwhelming if the terminology is too technical. We found a practical way to make this information easy to understand.
